Our pantry is open on Wednesdays from 12-2:30 pm and Saturdays from 10 am - 12:30 pm. Volunteers help staff our pantry so that it's run a little more like a grocery store, with people shopping for the items that they'd like to take home. Roles will vary from shopping escorts to stockers, replenishing items on shelves, and couriers, to help folks carry their stuff up the stairs and out to their cars. All volunteers must be at least 10 years old, wearing closed toed shoes and modest clothing (shorts recommended in the summer) and should be able to lift at least 20 pounds. Training is provided before the pantry opens, at the beginning of the volunteer shift.

Description
NourishKC, formerly known as Episcopal Community Services, specializes in a unique blend of food related programs.
The Kansas City Community Kitchen provides more than 1500 restaurant-style meals each week to anyone who comes to eat. Our Food Security Network supplies thousands more meals per year through a network of food pantries, BackSnack programs and other meal programs around the metro. Perhaps what makes us most unique is our Culinary Cornerstones training program which provides individuals an opportunity to learn life skills as well as culinary skills, giving them a chance to get a living wage job that will provide them with food access for the long term.
