Sonia Plotnick Health Fund Seeking Board Members Dedicated to Helping Women

Are you a woman looking for a meaningful board position with an organization dedicated to improving women’s lives? The Sonia Plotnick Health Fund, Inc. (SPHF) Board is looking for new members!

SPHF is a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to promote the wellness of women in the Tampa Bay area by providing financial and educational assistance with both traditional and non-traditional healthcare for the enhancement and well-being of women in the community. SPHF has provided over $220,000 in healthcare grants to women in our community since 1997.

As a group providing health funds to women, we regard a board composition of 100% women as a significant component of our mission. The SPHF Board of Directors is all-volunteer; we have no paid staff. It is a working board where each woman has assigned responsibilities matching her talent and interest areas. In addition, members are active advocates and ambassadors for SPHF and are fully engaged in identifying and securing the financial resources and partnerships necessary for SPHF to advance its mission.

SPHF is committed to seating a diverse board that represents the community it serves. All women are welcome to apply, but special consideration will be given to lesbians, women 30 or younger, women of color, Spanish-speaking women, and economically disadvantaged women. SPHF seeks women skilled in nonprofit finance, fundraising, community outreach, public health, and healthcare; however, all skills and experience will be considered.
