Wayne Main Street is seeking volunteers to assist with our Downtown Days event, happening in downtown Wayne, MI August 9-10. Downtown Days is a community, festival-style event that takes place throughout the downtown. The activities include live music, kid's activities, and a host of art-themed activities. We are seeking volunteers to help with various tasks including event set-up, information distribution, event staffing, and clean up.
Let us know you are interested - Sign up to volunteer and we will send you specific information about event duties and volunteer times.
Schedule:
Thursday, July 18th - Event Set-Up only
Friday, July 19th - Event Staffing
Saturday, July 20th - Event Staffing
Sunday, July 21st - Clean Up only
Qualifications & Requirements:
▪ Attention to detail
▪ Ability to work independently
▪ Reliable personal transportation
▪ Ability to lift over 20 pounds
▪ Ability to stand for the duration of the event
▪ Ability to work outdoors

Description
Since 2014 Wayne Main Street, a grassroots organization has spearheaded the efforts of community partners and volunteers of all ages and backgrounds to create a vibrant downtown Wayne. WMS brings the community together to honor Wayne’s history and long-standing traditions and we celebrate efforts and investments that are enhancing appearances, strengthening the downtown economy, and paving the way to an exciting future.
Our collective actions are creating a ripple effect with far reaching impacts to touch the lives of all who have a stake in downtown Wayne today, and for generations to come.
Main Street works to market the downtown and all that it has to offer through cooperative advertising campaigns and special events that draw customers into the doors of our downtown businesses. Main Street continuously works to enhance the look of the downtown and improve the walkability through the installation of benches, the purchase of new self-watering flower planters, downtown clean up events, façade improvements, and more.
