ORGANIZATION: Youth Tutoring Program

  • 1 person is interested

The Youth Tutoring Program is hosting an educational and fun-filled summer academic enrichment program for elementary and middle school students living in New Holly, South Beacon Hill's low and mixed-income housing community. 99% of the students we serve are students of color and most come from immigrant or refugee families. Our students come from diverse backgrounds--representing many nationalities, cultures, languages and religions.

Most kids lose at least three months of academic progress over the summer, and it’s our goal to keep that from happening with our students. Help us achieve our goal by volunteering with YTP just once a week for six weeks, from July 9th-August 16th.

We are recruiting Summer Program Volunteers for afternoon and early evening volunteer positions at New Holly this summer:

New Holly (South Beacon Hill)
7058 32nd Ave S.
3:00-4:30 (grades 1-5) and 4:40-6:10 (grades 6-8)
Monday thru Thursday, July 9-August 16th

Summer tutors help facilitate small groups in reading, math games, and science enrichment activities. No experience is necessary to be a tutor, we give you all the tools you need to be successful!

Volunteers are requested to help 1.5 hours per week, and be at least 14 years of age. Learn how you can volunteer with YTP by going to http://www.ccsww.org/ytp.
