Thank you for your interest in volunteering at WRC!

Beginning Saturday August 4 th our 65.5 hour Crisis Intervention Training for Sexual Assault Response Team advocates and Hotline advocates will take place at our office on Apple Street in Oceanside. This training will certify you, by the State of California, to work directly with domestic violence and sexual assault victims.

Training days are Saturdays 9:00am-5:00pm and Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 6:00pm to 9:30pm. There will also be a field trip to the forensic medical office in Escondido on 10/28/19.

*The training consists of a variety of speakers which will teach you how to respond to a person in crisis, and will provide resources that are available in San Diego County.

*SART volunteers are on call, and respond to a forensic medical office in either Escondido or Poway to provide advocacy and comfort to a victim during their forensic exam. SART shifts vary throughout the week.

*Hotline volunteers answer calls transferred to their cell phone, from 5pm-12am Monday through Friday.

*SART and Hotline advocates are required to sign up for at least 2 shifts per month, and are asked to make a commitment to volunteer for 9 months.

I hope you will consider being a part of our volunteer team! Please schedule an appointment to meet with me and to fill out an application at 1963 Apple Street in Oceanside.

Thank you,

Andrea Cason
