Our Mission
Our mission at Cornerstone Jamaica is to provide Jamaican nonprofit organizations and impact initiatives with the resources and counsel necessary for creation, sustainability, and expansion of their programs.
Furthermore, Cornerstone Jamaica's program mission is to improve the educational engagement of Jamaican children through the provision of premiere health interventions which improve outcomes and ultimately the quality of life in the nation of Jamaica.
Our Program
See Better. Learn Better.
"See Better. Learn Better" was designed to evolve education in Jamaica with first-rate Vision Care at primary schools. We have partnered with Doug McCloy of Mission of Sight and The Rotary Club of Negril to screen the eyesight (thus far) of 1,881 students, of which 662 were referred for comprehensive eye exams. These eye exams resulted in the distribution of 330 custom-made eyeglasses to student in need. Additionally, we will be measuring the effect that this vision intervention has on literacy and learning performance.

Media Coordinators are responsible for gathering, logging and maintaining the video and photo content of the Cornerstone Jamaica programs. Additionally interns are expected to complete an edited or live media project showcasing the content provided. The Media Coordinators are to work with the Communications Director to produce their video projects. If eligible, this position is for (1) college credit in media production or communications. Internships last 8-weeks from the start date.

Cornerstone Jamaica is a collective of individuals with the simple but vital goal of providing educational, technological and humanitarian support to the people of Jamaica through partnership with other established non-profit 501c-3 organizations across the US and Jamaica. The team of Cornerstone Jamaica consists of professionals with varied backgrounds ranging across various industries with the desire and passion to support those in need, beginning with those in the Westmoreland parish of Jamaica.
