ASL Guide for Gala

At Center for Independent Living, CIL's Celebrating Independence Gala, we gather for an evening of inclusion and fun for persons of all abilities. This year we will have 2 Deaf participants. We have interpreters on stage to interpret the event, but we are looking for 2 hearing volunteers who are fluent in ASL to accompany our guests and be sure they are no barriers to their participation in the event.
The ASL Guide will:

  • Accompany guest around Silent Auction
  • Facilitate interaction with rest of table
  • Help guest with any immediate interpretation needs, such as with the waiter, etc.
Volunteers would need to be present from 5:30pm to 10:00pm, and will receive comp'd seating and dinner as a thank you! This is a semi-formal event with cocktail attire, black tie optional.
