ORGANIZATION: SACRAMENTO VALLEY OPEN SPACE CONSERVANCY

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
  • 5 people are interested

Join Sacramento's land trust organization at the former Boy Scouts Golden Empire Council Camp Pollock to help improve this historic space. Types and size of special projects vary, but the need is great! Landscaping, lighting upgrades and fans, electrical installs, painting, sheetrock, masonry, roofing, mechanic (ride on lawn mower), plumbing (kitchen, restroom, pump house and well) improvements needed at this time. As volunteers come on we can almost guarantee we can match your specific field of expertise and interest with one of the MANY projects on the 11 acre property. Photo attached shows future site plans. The Camp Pollock property was given to the Scouts in 1920's, they managed it privately up until 2013

Mission Statement

Sacramento Valley Conservancy’s mission is to preserve the beauty, character and biodiversity of the Sacramento Valley landscape by protecting and stewarding natural and working lands, and scenic open spaces for the benefit of current and future generations.

Description

The Sacramento Valley Conservancy was founded in 1990 on two basic principles: that open lands are necessary for quality of life and that we must care for the land today so future generations may enjoy its physical and spiritual benefits tomorrow. Through the support of our loyal members and institutional and corporate supporters (like you!), the Conservancy grows every day to meet our community’s current regional needs to save land for future generations. To date, SVC has protected more than 17,584 acres!
