The public is invited to attend the Volunteer Information Session hosted by DeKalb County CASA Monday, July 16, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. The session will meet at the Gregory A. Adams Juvenile Justice Center, 4309 Memorial Drive, Decatur, GA 30032. This session will provide an overview of the DeKalb County CASA Program for those interested in becoming a CASA volunteer. A CASA volunteer is a trained community member appointed by a juvenile court judge to advocate on behalf of the best interests of an abused and/or neglected child in foster care. During the information session, DeKalb CASA staff will provide an overview of the history of the organization, offer information on what a CASA volunteer does, commitment expectations, discuss the volunteer training sessions, and explain the next steps; application, references, schedule an interview with a staff member. and answer any questions participants may have. Please note that the next Volunteer Training Session is a Flex Training class. Flex Training is a blended training consisting of five in-person sessions and five online sessions. In-person training sessions will meet on Thursdays at 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. beginning in August. The location and dates of in-person training sessions will be provided upon acceptance to the training class.
