Once each month, LSI distributes a box of culturally appropriate food to participants in our program supporting older refugees to help reduce food insecurity by providing food that people are used to eating and comfortable preparing. Volunteers help package and deliver the boxes to participants throughout Des Moines.
This generally happens over the course of two days in the third week of the month. Driving volunteers must complete background checks, orientation, and give a copy of driver's license and insurance before driving. For more information about next month's schedule, contact volunteer@lsiowa.org.
