Pamper a Hospice Patient

UC Davis Hospice aims to support people at the end-of-life in every way possible, and haircuts and pampering are request we receive from our home bound patients. We are reaching out to our community for volunteers willing to help fill this basic need for Hospice patients. UC Davis Hospice is looking for caring professional stylist (licensed manicurist, hairstylist or barber) to volunteer a bit of time and talent to our patients who are nearing the end of life's journey. Pampering can include: polishing and buffing nails, gentle shampoo, set and style, haircuts or helping with makeup (due to skin sensitivity, no hot curlers, curling irons or chemicals can be used).The time requirement is flexible and light and can be as little as a few hours per month. We offer training and on-going support and education for volunteers, and you would be part of a larger community of hospice volunteers who offer their time and many talents to make life better for our terminally ill patients.
