Bethany Christian Services has a group home for refugee youth in foster care. This home is a placement for youth when they arrive in the United States between the ages of 15 and 17, and they typically stay in the home for 6-12 months before moving on to a foster home or independent living at age 18. There are currently 10 youth in the home, and each youth would benefit from a family, couple, or male mentor to be paired up with one-on-one. A mentor for a youth in this home would take them on outings in the community, help them with their independent living skills, and be a friend to them. When the youth transitions out of the home, the mentor would continue meeting with them and help them adjust to their new placement.
