Looking for somewhere new to volunteer? Looking to fulfill school volunteering requirements? Retired and want to get involved? Or just enjoy talking about history?
Hazelwood Historic House is in search of volunteers (any age) interested in becoming a tour guide at the house museum! The house is open for tours June 1st-August 31st, Thursday-Sunday Noon-4:00 pm!
Hazelwood was built in 1837-1838 for Morgan L. Martin and his wife Elizabeth. Morgan and his family contributed to Green Bay's development as well as Wisconsin becoming a state!
Fun Fact: Hazelwood is still located on its original site of where it was built along the Fox River!
After some training, as a Tour Guide, you will be able to interact and inspire visitors to learn more about Green Bay history! Hazelwood is considered one of the "hidden gems" around the community. For many visitors, it is a first time visit to Hazelwood.
Hazelwood is so much more than just a regular historic house tour. It's very existence is ingrained into Green Bay's wonderful and rich history.
If interested in learning more about getting involved at Hazelwood as a Tour Guide or any other volunteer opportunities, please contact Brooke Uhl at bchsvolunteer@netnet.net
