Progressive Transition(s) Inc. is an active 501(C)(3) non-profit serving the Bay Area community. Our mission is to improve the lives of victims and survivors of Domestic Violence, Intimate Partner Violence, Sexual Exploitation and Human Trafficking. We recognize and identify violence against women as a public health issue. Our goal is to reduce and prevent reoccurring incidences of violence against woman in any form. We work to eradicate violence against women in our society.
On Saturday June 23, 2018 Progressive Transition(s) Inc. is hosting a Symposium taking a global look at human trafficking, sexual exploitation/assault, and domestic violence. The event will be held at St. Columba Catholic Church in Oakland, CA. It is entitled Unwrapping the Truth.
We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to support us the day of the event, 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Volunteer responsibilities will include:
- Set-up: Arrive to the venue prior to start of the event assist with set up, registration and greeting; name tags etc.
- Take-down: Stay after the event has ended to assist with facility clean up;
- Assist facilitators with any set up they may need
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Must be 18 or over
- Some prior event volunteer experience a plus
- Demonstrated strong personal engagement skills
- Must have a friendly disposition and a smile
- Must be able to stay calm in busy, fast-paced situations

Description
Our services include a diversion program for women 18 and over who are involved in street prostitution, human trafficking and who have been sexually exploited. We provide individual, group and family counseling services for victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.
We provide information and referral services for health care, mental health and employment. We faciliate life skills classes and interactive workshops.
