Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest is seeking a volunteer passionate about helping pets and people. We're looking for someone who is detail oriented, enjoys organizing projects, and likes talking with people. Read below for details.

Volunteer Purpose and Impact

This volunteer will advance the future of Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest by facilitating a new volunteer-led initiative in Pima County. This program provides supplemental pet food to low income older adults with pets in the home. The Pet Program Coordinator will coordinate pet food delivery routes and assign volunteers to run each potential pet food delivery route. A volunteer in this role will have a leadership role in recruiting and interviewing potential volunteers, and will have the ability to shape the future of the Pet Program.

Responsibilities and Key Deliverables

Volunteer will assist with:

· Creation of pet food delivery routes

· Recruitment and on-boarding of volunteers

· Coordination with Care Coordinators and volunteers for initial visits

· Other duties as needed

Qualifications

Volunteer should be detail oriented, and be comfortable making phone calls, using Microsoft Excel, online maps, and email.

Working Conditions

Volunteer will coordinate volunteers out of the Lutheran Social Services office. Volunteer will mainly be seated and have access to a laptop computer. Volunteer may be asked to assist at Cody’s Friends with bagging pet food and answering volunteer questions.

Clearances Required & Training

Volunteer must obtain a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and clear the Central Registry background check. Volunteer must have a driver’s license to assist with pet food delivery. Volunteer must attend an orientation, and will receive additional training as needed.

Location & Timeframe

Volunteer should be available some Wednesday mornings between 8am and 11am. Volunteer must be available to volunteer at least 3 hours per week during regular business hours (Mon-Fri 8am-5pm). LSS-SW office is located at 6303 E. Tanque Verde Rd, Suite #101.
