We are a local Den in Fort Wayne, Indiana. We give teddy bears to children in trauma situations and lonely adults. Because of the pandemic we have been inactive but we expect to be active again in the Fall/Winter of 2021. We hold monthly meetings to enjoy the friendship of teddy bear people and plan our activities. Meetings will be held, beginning in June 2021, the second Thursday of each month at the Community Center in Downtown Fort Wayne, Indiana at 6:30 p.m.
Our members are ages 12 to 85 (children under the age of 15 must have an adult sponsor. Families with small children are welcome). Some of our members are teddy bear collectors, some are teddy bear makers and some just love teddy bears and other stuffed animals (stuffies). You do not have to be a member to help our Den.
We have gifted over 4,000 stuffies in the past 2 years to local hospitals, BrightPoint, the YWCA Abuse Center, Crossroads, SCAN, Phoenix Institute, The Women's Care Center, local nursing homes and the Allen County Sheriff's Department.

Mission Statement
The Disorderly Bear Den of Good Bears of the World has special feelings for children and the elderly and know how a teddy bear helps soften the harshness of this world. Our mission is to put the comfort of a teddy bear into the arms and hearts of traumatized children and lonely adults.
Description
We meet on the second Thursday evening of each month. Our purpose to to make money to buy teddy bears to give to children and lonely adults in trauma situations throughout the year. We also accept donations of pre-loved teddy bears and stuffed animals. We participate in craft and teddy bear shows where we sell teddy bears and related merchandise to make money. Pre-loved animals are sorted according to suitability to be gifted or sold. They are given a new ribbon. All proceeds from sales are used to purchase new teddy bears for our "Bear Bank". Any organization in need of teddy bears to be distributed to children or lonely adults is considered in our gifting program.
