The Yolo County Sheriff’s Office is now accepting applications for the Yolo County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Team. This all-volunteer group will assist the department in search and rescue operations within Yolo County and the State of California as needed. The YCSAR will be utilized to assist with search operations including searches by ground, air, and water.
The Yolo County Search and Rescue Team will be utilized to conduct searches in all types of different environments from city streets to rugged rural mountainous terrain. Members may receive training and certification in all types of search methodology, survival skills, mapping, GPS, CPR, First aid and Search Management, Man tracking, Technical Rope Rescue, Swift Water Rescue Technician. Once the core group of members is trained and certified the organization will eventually pursue specialty assignments such as K-9, Air ops, water searches and explorer programs.

Description
The Yolo County Sheriff’s Office is now accepting applications for the "Yolo County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Team" (Yolo SAR). This volunteer group will assist the department in search and rescue operations within Yolo County and the State of California as needed. The Yolo SAR will be utilized to assist with search operations including searches by ground, air, and water.
Yolo SAR will be utilized to conduct searches in all types of different environments from city streets to rugged rural mountainous terrain. Members may receive training and certification in all types of search methodology, survival skills, mapping, GPS, CPR, First aid, Search Management, Man tracking, Technical Rope Rescue, and working with K9. Fully trained members will operate with K-9, Air ops, water searches, and public relations events.
