St. Hubert’s is getting ready to launch the next session of our Youth Task Force https://www.sthuberts.org/youth-task-force, starting in September. The task force is composed of teenagers (15 to 17 years old) who volunteer in teams of 4-6 to provide direct animal care in the after-school and weekend hours. The teens will be trained in safe cat and dog handling as well as social media promotion of pets, and fundraising for specific shelter needs.
We are currently looking for adult volunteers who would be interested in working with the youth during their weekly shifts. This would mostly entail taking the dogs out of the kennels and bringing them to the dog runs where the students will interact with them and serving as a mentor for the kids during their shifts. Experience and comfort handling large, high energy dogs required. This is a great opportunity if you enjoy working with teenagers and want to support their advocacy for animals.
The shifts that are currently available are as follows and we ask that adult volunteers commit to at least two shifts per month (September through December).
Friday, 4:00 - 6:00 pm Saturday and Sunday, 12:00 - 2:00 pm and 3:00 - 5:00 pm.
If you are interested in this volunteer opportunity, please contact Humane Educator, Karen Potocek firstname.lastname@example.org .
No additional volunteer opportunities at this time.
