Exciting opportunity to make an impact in your community by joining a committee for a local foster care and adoption program, dedicated to improving the lives of children.

We are currently looking for knowledgeable and dedicated professionals and community members to become an active member of our Advisory Council. Specific areas in which we'd love to have professional insight would be; Communications/Marketing, Community Outreach/Public Relations, Financial/Accounting, Fundraising, and Strategic Planning.

There is no financial commitment necessary for this opportunity. We simply request that each member agrees to a minimum of a one year term, and to attend at least one of our annual agency events. We will meet monthly, on the first Tuesday morning of each month from 8:00am-9:00am. There will be a break during July and December.

Description

The Salvation Army Foster Care Program provides for the temporary care for children and youth who are unable to remain in their own homes and are placed in the custody of the county children and youth agencies. The children are placed with foster parents, who are committed to providing a safe, temporary home for children who have been abused and neglected and are unable to remain living in their own homes. The program serves children Lehigh, Northampton, Bucks, Delaware, Montgomery and Berks Counties. The Adoption Program provides services to potential adoptive families and children through the Statewide Adoption Network (SWAN) and also provides services for private adoption home studies. Many of the referrals are for children within our own foster care program that become available for adoption and are adopted by their foster parents.
