This position is for individuals who want to assist Head Coaches with creating, organizing and conducting a comprehensive sports training program. Coaches are preferred to have the knowledge and/or coaching experience in the sport that they are coaching. Special Olympics Southern California will provide sports training through our Coaches Education program for individuals interested in this position.
Requirements:
- At least 16 years or older with a valid Driver’s License. Coaches 16-17 years old are eligible for Sports Training season and Local/Area/Regional Competition, but cannot participate in Chapter Competitions in this capacity due to Risk Management Policy restrictions.
- This position requires one weekday or weekend (approximately 2-3 hours) for practice during an 8 (minimum) to 12 (maximum) week season.
- This position requires 2-3 weekends for athlete competitions during the season.

Description
Special Olympics San Diego County is the local Special Olympics chapter for San Diego County residents. We are a sports organization for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. All of our programs are free to our participants.
