Here at Folktime we are looking for more folks who would like to volunteer their services to those living within the mental health community. We are currently looking for someone to come in during our open program hours on Firday to do simple cuts and trims for our members. All applicants must already have a license from Oregon Health authority to cut hair.

FolkTime is an organization dedicated to wellness and recovery for adults with a mental health diagnosis. In a friendly and supportive atmosphere, members focus on developing their personal strengths and talents, learn the skills needed to live with the daily realities of mental illness, and gain optimum independence in their lives.
Description
FolkTime is a nonprofit organization created in 1986 by friends and family of people with a mental health diagnosis. In an effort to break the cycle of hospitalization, people recognized the need for friendship, support and reintegration into community life as necessary components of recovery. FolkTime has evolved into an organization that is operated by peer staff, with programming that is self-determined by peers. Program locations are NE Portland, Oregon City, and Sandy, OR. FolkTime provides a safe environment for practicing social skills, involvement in activities such as art, music and writing, and encourages community independence. FolkTime offers:Companionship and Support, Social Activities and Games, Homemade Lunch, Internet Access, Stabilization, Independence, Outreach, and Education.
