Providence ElderPlace-PACE(Prgram for All Inclusive care for the Elderly) is an innovative program of services for older adults. Providence ElderPlace helps older adults remain as healthy and independent as possible in the community for as long as possible.
In Home Friendly Visitors: ElderPlace In Home Friendly Visitors provide one-on-one support to our participants within their living environment outside of the ElderPlace facilities. ElderPlace participants live throughout King County. Many of our participants are isolated and benefit greatly from one-on-one interactions.
We currently have participants living in Seattle who would love to have visitors 2-4 times per month:
-This delightful gentleman URGENTLY requests a MALE visitor to share his interest in radios and electronics.
-This wonderful woman would love to have a volunteer help her decorate her apartment and paint her nails.
-This lovely lady loves to paint and would love someone to shop with.
-This gentleman loves to draw, fish, talk and the outdoors. He is a veteran and would welcome weekly visits.
-This social gentleman URGENTLY requests a volunteer to go on walks outside and/or short outings. He enjoys art, history, dogs and dancing as well, and has traveled the world, especially Europe. Any day except Tues and Thurs are great for visits with this gentleman.
-This caring woman is originally from Wichita, Kansas. She loves music, especially Elvis and would welcome a visitor to listen to music and dance in her wheelchair with.
-This delightful gentleman, originally from New Orleans, would love to watch Western and Kung fu movies, listen to blues, and reminisce about New Orleans.
-This wonderful gentleman has a variety of leisure interests; including crossword puzzles, sci-Fi and adventure movies, You Tube (likes to watch Steven Colbert and Trevor Noah videos), and online jigsaw puzzles. He is able to visit the Seattle Public Library site to reserve books and DVDs. He recently checked out his first audiobook. He enjoys writing and would like to return to this interest--he was working on a Sci-Fi story. He reads the newspaper or watchs the news to keep up with current events.
Optimal visiting days are Friday or Saturday, or any evening.

- 18 + years of age
A general new volunteer orientation of two hours is required. An in home volunteer orientation for this opportunity is provided.
