Mobile Pantry/Kids Cafe Distribution Guidelines for Volunteers
Volunteers are encouraged to use their personal hand sanitizer before entering the building. A sanitation station should also be installed in the building lobby, entry way, or other area before entering the distribution area.
Volunteers should also wash their hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds before touching any distribution surfaces or food items.
Volunteers should be asked to re-wash their hands if they sneeze, cough or touch their face.
All volunteers should be asked the three standard coronavirus screening questions immediately after they arrive (or, Ellen would have asked these questions during their initial intake)
Have you traveled outside of the area in the last 30 days?
Are you feeling sick or have you been recently ill?
Do you have a fever?
Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.
Residents are not allowed to unload, sort, or distribute food items.
All volunteers must wear gloves.
Volunteers should practice demonstrate social distancing strategies, which includes keeping at least a 6 foot distance away from any other person distributing food.
Volunteers should limit personal items brought into the building such as purses, hats, scarves, etc.
Volunteers are limited to the food distribution areas only. Only staff may deliver directly to the resident’s apartment.
Volunteers are encouraged to leave the building immediately after the distribution has concluded.
