Mission Statement

Angel Network Charities, Inc. is a 501 (c3) non-profit organization providing food and services to those in need.

Description

ANC began as a grassroots, all-volunteer organization supported by Calvary by the Sea Lutheran Church in Aina Haina. As it grew from caring for a few families to over 40, the need for professional leadership became clear.

Today, ANC has a part-time manager, Susan Sanger, a small group of dedicated volunteers, and a nine-member Board of Directors.

ANC received an award from President George H. W. Bush and was also recognized with a "Thousand Points of Light" award, presented to ANC founder Ivy Olson by President Bill Clinton.

In 2002, we stopped our transitional housing program mainly due to lack of funding but continue to provide a community food pantry.

In addition to giving out pantry items twice a week, ANC also participates in the Ohana Produce Program distributing perishable food items such as fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods, dairy products, cereal, snack foods and beverages on the 1st Thursday and 2nd Friday of each month.

ANC's food pantry serves over 1,500 people in need each month in East Oahu. We serve the elderly, families, children, individuals, and people who financially struggle to make ends meet by providing them with perishable and non-perishable food items, and on-site laundry and shower facilities on non-Ohana days.
