Circle of Care is seeking facilitators for our grief and loss peer support group program.
After attending an intensive 24 hour training, volunteers will have the unique opportunity to co-lead twice monthly (currently running on Tuesday or Thursday evenings) peer support groups. The whole family attends group on the same evening. Children meet in groups by age and adults meet in separate groups. Adult facilitators have the opportunity to work with bereaved parents/caretakers. Child facilitators have the opportunity to work with children ranging in ages of 4-17.
For over 35 years, volunteers have been the foundation for Circle of Care; this year alone, 40 volunteers generously contributed over 3,500 hours of their time helping children and families through their healing journey.
You do not have to be an expert on grief to volunteer here but you do have to be willing to come with an open heart and ability to learn and practice your listening skills, learn and share coping skills as you companion families through their grief process.
Mandatory training modules take place in both August and January on 2 weekend days, and 2 weekday evenings. For more information and current training dates and application visit our website at:
