ORGANIZATION: Briscoe Western Art Museum

A community event to celebrate the Cowboy, Cowgirl, and Vaquero! We are in search of volunteers to assist us with various activities, such as roping, stick-pony making and racing, branding and "top-hands" to interact with the public. If you have a passion for the cowboy history and heritage of San Antonio please sign up! The event will run from Noon to 4:00pm on Saturday, July 28, 2018. Through the preservation of the art, history, and culture of the American West, the Briscoe Western Art Museum inspires and educates the public with engaging exhibitions, educational programs, and public events reflective of the region's rich traditions and shared heritage.

Description

The Briscoe Western Art Museum showcases historic and contemporary art and artifacts that highlight the American West. The Museum is housed in San Antonio's 1930's central library building, beautifully restored to its original glory. Vaquero, American Indian, and Cowboy narratives come to life through painting sculpture, photography, and exquisitely crafted artifacts.
