Literacy Tutoring Each individual learns to read and develop literacy skills at a different pace. The GiGi’s one-on-one Literacy Program builds a foundation in sight word recognition, vocabulary, comprehension and articulation through one-on-one literacy tutoring adapted to fit the learning style of individuals with Down syndrome. Recommended for ages 3 to adults.

** We are currently seeking tutors for our Fall 2023 session which runs from September 5 to December 16, 2023.

Each tutor is matched with a student based on the tutor's and student's availability. Weekly lessons are 45-60 minutes for 15 weeks. Tutors meet with the same student each week at GiGi's Playhouse. The time commitment is 1 1/2 hours weekly.

No prior experience is required. Each tutor receives training with our Literacy Coordinator. We provide all materials and supplies.
