Helping Homeless Veteran get the Services they need at STAND DOWN 2019 (www.WarriorVolunteers.org)

Come join us for a worthwhile cause! Us4Warriors is once again working with Veterans Village of San Diego and San Diego Veterans Stand Down to provide volunteers for various duties during the weekend of 28 -30 June. Us4Warriors volunteers will be helping support many areas of the event, but some key duties will include checking in veterans during those first hours of Friday, June 28 (0500-1000) and checking them out on Sunday, June 30 (1200-1600) as well as roving monitors, gate safety and other various positions throughout the stand down operations. Last year, we filled over 350 positions thanks to your help and made a significant impact on the lives of thousands in need.

Veterans Stand Down is held at the San Diego High School Upper Athletic Field located at 1405 Park Blvd, San Diego. There are various shifts available throughout the weekend. All volunteers must be at least 18 years of age. Children under 18 years of age may not volunteer or accompany a volunteer. San Diego Stand Down was the first one in the nation and brings together the community and services to give homeless veterans a hand up to help them get off the street. Medical, Dental, VA Claims, Clothing, Grooming, Legal Support, Food, Treatment options, Potential Housing options and so much more takes place at Stand Down. Just to volunteer in order to see this amazing operation take place is well worth it. It is one of the main and the largest veteran support event in San Diego County.

Throughout the year, Us4Warriors engages with active duty, post service veterans, their families and community supporters to assemble a Warrior Volunteer Force (WVF) for various events. For this special event, there are generally 900-1,000 area homeless veterans and their families who gain support and services through this weekend of Stand Down. We hope that number is a lot less, but we assemble to take care of our brothers & sisters. We seek 350 volunteers for the weekend to help support the event. Volunteers get a t-shirt and a special ball cap that was the envy of many last year.

To sign up, please go online at www.WarriorVolunteers.org , register to be added to the WVF system and then sign-up for this or any other volunteer opportunity that we have available. Questions? Please contact Volunteer Coordinator, Bobby Erdmann via email at Volunteer@Us4Warriors.org or via phone at 1-888-444-1415. Thanks for your service! Thanks for continuing to give of yourself through these community service opportunities as well! Come join us!

Thank You!
