The Advocacy Academy is a youth movement working to unleash the power of young people to create a more fair, just, and equal society. They are on a mission to create a new generation of social-change leaders, supporting them to tackle the biggest challenges of the 21st century - from gender equality to mental health. They envision a society in which young people are active citizens, meaningfully participating in their communities, and effectively challenging systemic injustice and inequality to create a better tomorrow.

Job Brief

We’re looking for a Graphic Designer who can lead the completion of website redesigning to improve its functions (better navigation, showcasing and fundraising) and create interesting and inspiring graphics across print, social and digital media for a range of charities and community groups. The role will also creating graphics across all media for a range of not-for-profit organisations.

Responsibilities

  • To oversee the complete re-design of our current website to improve navigation, showcasing of our work, and fundraising strategy
  • To help with the design of print and online marketing materials, including their Annual Report.
  • Develop logo and brand identities
  • Work effectively in collaboration with other members of the Graphic Design Team.
  • Design printed material - including brochures, leaflets, clothing, etc.
  • Design digital material - social media content, website material, etc.
  • Ensure all organisational material adheres to the new brand identity.

Requirements

  • Experience using Adobe Indesign and Photoshop is essential.
  • Experience using Adobe Illustrator is desirable.
  • Experience designing printed and digital media.
  • Multi-tasking ability and a flexible approach to work.
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Time commitment

The time commitment can be as little as 4 hours per week, depending on your availability.

Location

The role will be performed remotely, so applications are welcomed from across the world.

As the role is as a volunteer, it is unpaid, but it offers a great opportunity to gain experience, while helping to change the world!
