Morning Feeding at Monroe Horse Rescue

ORGANIZATION: FINALLY HOME HORSE RESCUE

  • 3 people are interested

Finally Home Horse Rescue needs a reliable, detail-oriented volunteer to feed the horses in the barn in the morning during the week.

The AM shift does not take long, scheduled between 7-9 am, ideally the same time each morning. It involves giving hay to each horse and serving grain to select horses. Having time to fill water buckets would be a plus.

Ideally we'd like to have one person who could feed each weekday morning, but if you are interested and can only do a few days of the week, we might be able to work something out.

Note: if you'd like to do more, we have plenty of chores to do. :)

About FINALLY HOME HORSE RESCUE

Mission Statement

We rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome horses. Some of the Earth's most amazing creatures find themselves in difficult situations and they rely on people to care for them... but sometimes people let the horses. Finally Home Horse Rescue aims to go seek out these situations and do what we can to care for the ones who can't care for themselves. We cannot do it alone. We need your help. Our mission is to provide a safe, healthy, and caring environment where horses can recover from difficult situations, too often the result of the slaughter or auction industries, or the economic downturn. Our goal to rehabilitate and rehome them to forever homes.

Description

Since 2013, we have taken steps to help horses in need, by caring for their physical and mental health issues, training them, and when they are ready, helping them find new homes where they can be loved. We have learned the value in looking upstream from the slaughter and auction industries, to find horses before they end up in the auction pipeline.

As a 501c3 charitable organization, we depend on the generosity of our volunteers and our community in order to support our horses.
