Monday, February 17 we're having a special restoration day to remove an invasive vine at the back of the downtown library parking lot and down the hill to the creek.

Wear long pants, closed-toe sturdy shoes or hiking boots, and a hat. Bring lightweight gardening gloves and drinking water/snack if you want it. Sunscreen, insect repellent, and gaiters in summer months at your discretion.

Minimum age 11-13 with parent. Older teens OK solo.

All participants must sign a waiver. Adults can sign on site. Minors (under 18) must have a parent's or guardian's signature. You will be sent one when you volunteer.

Friends of the Creeks is a nonprofit, all-volunteer group dedicated to enhancing the health and beauty of creeks flowing through the city of Walnut Creek.

Description

Friends of the Creeks main volunteer-related activities are habitat restoration and creek cleanups. We also advocate for the creeks when new policies or developments are proposed that would affect them.

We are also looking for returning volunteers to tend the pollinator garden in Civic Park. Contact us to learn more about this opportunity.

A couple of times a year we offer an evening program or an interpretive walk.
