Help us continue to provide families access to healthy, high-quality food through our food pantry!
Our Fritz Food Pantry provides groceries for 75 to 100 hungry households every week, with the number increasing at least 15% during the summer. Dedicated volunteers are the driving force in our pantry and allow us to support everybody who relies on the pantry for healthy and nutritious food.
We are looking for a volunteer to support the pantry as a set-up volunteer on Tuesdays from 8:45am - Noon, Wednesdays 4pm-6pm and Thursdays 9am-11am starting immediately. You would be helping set-up the pantry before it opens.
- Unloading and sorting donations.
- Prepping the pantry for customers.
- Assisting with stocking shelves.
About Goodman Community Center
149 Waubesa St, Madison, WI 53704, US
Our Mission The Goodman Community Center strengthens lives and secure futures. Our Vision A community that’s thriving because everyone is valued and has the resources they need to be successful. Our Values GCC is committed to creating and maintaining a community that respects and values diverse life experiences. Everyone deserves respect and acceptance without bias. We engage the perspectives and voices of our community and ensure they are reflected in our culture.
The Goodman Community Center is not your average community center. As I get to talking with people about Goodman, they inevitably end up surprised. They’re surprised by how many programs and resources we offer, how beautiful our facilities are, or how many people we serve. Every year more than 30,000 people use the Center - some who come to one event, others who are very familiar faces here.
Thanks to our generous community, we just built and moved into a second beautiful facility across the street, the Brassworks building. We’re now reconfiguring and refreshing the Center’s first home on Waubesa Street, the Ironworks building. During this past ten years, we’ve nearly doubled in size.
Our staff are committed to learning and continually improving, too. That’s why each program uses a variety of tools to measure impacts for both the program overall, and for each individual participant. We use that data to constantly fine-tune what we do - and how we do it.
We’re glad Goodman is one of many organizations in the Madison area who are pouring themselves into making our community great - for us all. We hope you’ll join us. Because we know that every good thing that happens here is made possible by people like you.
We'll work with your schedule.
