Position Description: The intern would be assisting the Event Manager in producing the St. Paul’s Senior Services annual fundraiser, The LUV (Love Uniting Volunteers) Gala, which will take place at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront on Saturday night, August 11th. Under the supervision of the Event Manager, the intern/volunteer would be supporting the Gala Chair and her committees in producing the evening’s activities, including hiring and managing entertainment, helping to secure items and donations for the live and silent auctions as well as the wine pull. They would also be involved with the catering, décor, silent auction basket creation and logistical aspects of the event.
The intern/volunteer would also be responsible for creating and updating event documents as well as overseeing the inventory, delivery and storage of all event and auction items.
We are looking for someone: computer suavvy, proficient in Excel, Microsoft Word, Drop Box and be familiar with Raiser’s Edge and eventbrite.
They must have strong organizational and interpersonal skills, a professional demeanor in attire and speech, work well with others and be able to speak clearly and make self-understood. They must have the ability to work on several projects simultaneously in a fast paced environment and be able to concentrate on fine detail where there is constant interruption.
Be able to push, pull lift and carry items up to 20 pounds and be able to walk, stoop and file on a frequent basis.
Hours: 10-15 hours a week, increasing as the LUV Gala date approaches.
Schedule: 2-3 days a week, increasing as the LUV Gala date approaches

Volunteer opportunities include, but are not limited to: Arts & Crafts, Board Games, Story-Time, Walking Residents, Bingo, Food Servers, Picnic/Outing Helpers, Data Entry, Reception Greeters, and many more. We are always in need of extra help throughout our seven campuses. Residents and staff have requested needs such as, Reiki Therapy, Companionship, Decorators, Arts & Crafts, Bible Studies, etc. If you are interested in Volunteering or know of someone who is, please fill out our application located on our web-site.
