Keep the Canopy is a group of citizens who prize Cary’s trees and natural forested areas. We are building a network of like-minded people with the professional skills needed to interact with Cary’s business community and government to establish and sustain an "urban forest."

We are looking for expertise in urban planning, landscape architecture, environmental engineering, natural resource management, ecology, biophilic cities, wildlife management, philosophy, psychology, general and urban forestry, community organizing and coalition building, public relations, and volunteer coordination.

We hope to create our own proposals and review those of the Town.

We anticipate steady but low-intensity work to build the community understanding and organizations and the funding sources necessary to preserve and expand the natural areas that we all value.
