Volunteers are needed for one day only. No skills are required. Volunteers are needed for the registration of parade participants and during the picnic finale that includes children activities (inflatables, face paintings), vendors and an entertainment stage.

*****YOUTH VOLUNTEERS THIS IS IDEAL FOR YOU*****

Logistic Registrars: Checking In Volunteers & Vendors at Ogden Park.
Parade Line-Up Registrars: Checking In Parade Procession Participants.
Registrars Runners: Will assist registrars with directing parade procession participants and assisting with parade participant line-up.
Park Logistic Crew = will assist with parade finale set up (tables, chairs, ice, etc).
Kitchen Crew = will assist with food preparation (assembling food to pass out, no cooking involved)
Crowd Control = will assist with crowd control (controlling crowd with assistance of CPD and marshals)

Description

The Englewood Back To School Parade (EBTSP) has been a jewel in the Englewood community for 62 years and counting. Education has always been the focus of the parade. There is a parade procession and a picnic finale at Ogden Park located at 6500 S. Racine in Chicago, IL. In addition to promoting the importance of staying in school to children within the community, the parade creates a sense of pride and promotes a day of peace.

Each year over 3,000 residents and businesses from Englewood and the Chicagoland area participate in the parade festivities.

On parade day volunteers are needed to assist with crowd control, food preparation and park logistics. Please see website for more details on the specifics of each volunteer position.
