Mentor 19-year-old from Somalia

ORGANIZATION: Bethany Christian Services

A family, couple, or male volunteer is needed to mentor a teenage male youth from Somalia in Bethany's refugee foster care program. In Somalia, the youth's father was murdered for his reporting on a local political group. The rest of his family moved to a refugee camp, but when war broke out, he was separated from his family and hasn't seen them since. His older sister was also killed for taking up her father's reporting work. This youth has been in Bethany's program since October of 2016, and he has been waiting for a mentor for over two years. He attends East Kentwood High School and works part time at the YMCA and the Grand Rapids Children's Museum.
