ORGANIZATION: Bethany Christian Services
Please visit the new page to apply.
A family, couple, or male volunteer is needed to mentor a male teen refugee from Togo. He arrived in the United States in May of 2016. He experienced the death of his mother and father in 2005. The client experienced physical abuse from his aunt and would work all day to bring money home for her to collect from him. At one point he was homeless and lived with various individuals from the Muslim community until he was given aid to travel to the United States. He was placed in one of Bethany's group homes in September of 2016. He is sociable and gets along well with the other youth his age. He is Muslim and does not eat pork for religious reasons. The youth speaks fluent French, has greatly increased his English abilities, and goes to East Kentwood High School.
