ORGANIZATION: MINT ARTISTS GUILD

  • 1 person is interested

We invite you to help document Mint Artists summer creative jobs program - and our many community and art activities this summer. Take photos of us, of our work, of our successes and our mistakes and our guest artists.

Visit our studios in Palmer Park once a week, more or less, and take photos of our young artists painting, running an art in the park program, creating mosaics and much more. Show up at the Belle Isle Art Fair and see us helping artists and running arts and crafts - and meeting the Mint Learn & Earn artists!

Timing and dates are flexible - except for a few things like the art fair.

If you are willing to shoot some video, or work with one of our young artists on video, that will be a bonus - and much appreciated!

All the photos are yours, your copyright but we expect you give us the right to use them in social media, and promotions to build and grow Mint Artists Guild. We credit you - and celebrate your contribution to Mint Artists. Last year, we were honored to have Brendan Ross as our pro bono photographer.

About MINT ARTISTS GUILD

Location:

PO Box 21667, Detroit, MI 48221, US

Mission Statement

Mint Artists Guild helps to transform aspiring Detroit youth artists through education, exceptional engagement and experience, resulting in earning opportunities, skill-building, exposure, and mentoring. Mint launches creative careers and lasting connections. Mint also infuses the community with art and creative experiences, enhancing a collaborative, healthy and generous culture.

Description

Mint works with artists ages 13 to 23 on entrepreneurial, career and life skills, and gives them opportunities to sell their creative work. A summer jobs program, business workshops and online educational and informational resources are offered to young visual artists. In 2020, we launched the Metro Detroit Youth Arts Competition, a creative activity kit giveaway (of 5,500 kits) and in 2021, we launched leadership development training. This year, we are working on an alumni engagement program, adding creative jobs to our website and so much more. We need your help and support to continue our growth!
