The North Country Out of the Darkness Walk is a suicide prevention awareness and fundraising event that takes place on September 30 at the Olympic Speed Skating Oval in Lake Placid. We are looking for volunteers who would like to join the planning committee to help with various tasks like spreading the word, hanging flyers, soliciting donations, etc. Committee meets by conference call once per month from now until event day. Other tasks are done on own time.

Description

The Capital Region NY Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention covers 15 counties in NYS providing suicide prevention, education, training and support programs. We hold fundraising events throughout the year that raise money to support research and provide all of our research-based programs free of charge to the community.
