Palo Alto Housing Corporation is seeking a tech savvy mentor to join our summer internship program: Digital Leaders!

Smartphone apps, robots, video games, small business-the world runs on code. Software jobs are predicted to grow 34% in the next few years, making coding and app development the world’s most in-demand skills

Kickstart your future in STEM by volunteering to support high school interns build in-demand coding skills and innovate like a pro with industry-standard tech tools.

Digital Leaders is a leadership program for high school youth living in the Palo Alto Housing Corporation (PAHC). Here, youth work as interns gaining tech and leadership skills through technology by learning how to use basic coding softwares to create their own website. The Digital Leaders program encourages youth to be engaged with their community by using technology and digital media to design an informative web page that focuses on a social justice or their choosing.

As a Digital Leader volunteer, you will be a part of a confidence-boosting experience -- mentoring young adults to become comfortable and creative with coding technology.

Our Mission: To create stronger, more diverse communities by providing and maintaining high-quality affordable housing where individuals and families thrive.

Description

We’re Palo Alto Housing-nice to meet you! We’re Bay Area locals, and we’ve been in Palo Alto since the '70s. We’re an independent non-profit agency that builds, develops, acquires, and manages low- and moderate-income housing in Palo Alto and the San Francisco Bay Area. We provide high-quality, safe housing; subsidized rents to the greatest degree possible, and support our residents in reaching their goals through the Resident Services program.

We believe that everyone has their own story, yet we all want the same thing: we want what’s best for our families; we want to do meaningful work. We believe that communities benefit when people can afford to live in them, and that when it comes down to it, nothing is more valuable than people. See you around town!
