Adult English as a Second Language (ESL) Teachers Needed
Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans
Catholic Charities' ESL program is looking for people to teach adult ESL classes (around 25 people in a class), co-teachers for classes, and ESL tutors/small group leaders who are able to commit once a week for 2.5 hrs for a minimum of 4- 5 months.
The ESL program holds trainings once a month to on-board new volunteers, and you will need to attend one of those before you begin, as well as fill out paperwork for the main office and authorize a background check.
Volunteers do not need any prior teaching experience, ESL experience or knowledge of a language other than English and will be trained for their position.
Classes take place in one of three places:
At the Metairie office (near Veterans and Williams) from 6 pm-8:30 pm Tuesday - Thursday
On the Tulane campus from 6 pm-8:30 pm Monday - Wednesday
At a church near Jesuit in Mid-City from 9 am- 11:30 am Tuesday- Thursday (except summers)
Great opportunity for those looking to get TEFL certified!
