Volunteers assist with one of five urban educational weekday programs for children 5 - 13 years old. The programs are open from 8:30 am - 2:30 PM Monday - Friday. We need 2-4 volunteers each day at each of the five Pittsburgh agencies that house families with children. There is a program closing party for the families at each of the programs on August 15 or 16.
The summer program is designed to help the children retain what they learned during the school year. Also, they participate in crafts, engage in outdoor activities, go on field trips on Thursdays, and have fun. This opportunity is ideal for high school (16+) and college aged volunteers. But, it is also a great opportunity for volunteers of all ages.
