Appalachian Wildlife Refuge

Injured wildlife comes to Appalachian Wild from all over the mountain region. Transport may be required when Appalachian Wild receives a call about an injured or orphaned animal(s) that needs help getting to our facility, an animal needs to be transported to a veterinarian, an animal needs to be picked up or taken to a different rehabilitation facility. Volunteers need to be available to transport within the Carolinas, up to 150 miles away, approximately 2 hours one way. Being a "wildlife ambulance" is a necessary and rewarding part of the rehabilitation process.
