Lead Full Moon Hike to Beach for Hostel Guests

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Hostelling International USA

  • 3 people are interested

HI Point Reyes is looking for a few great volunteers to lead night hikes for hostel guests.

Hikes will be close to or on full moons and leave from the hostel to the beach. Volunteers will also start a beach fire for travelers to enjoy.

The goal of the activity is to give hostel guests a local and authentic experience, as well as an opportunity for guests to interact and meet fellow travelers.

Hikes are generally Friday or Saturday (that's why it doesn't have to exactly be a full moon, but full-moonish) and from 7-10:30/11 pm

The benefits of volunteering with HI USA include:

  • Meet new people from all over the world, including travelers, staff, and fellow volunteers
  • Work to increase understanding and tolerance by helping people break down cultural barriers
  • Help travelers to the community have a great travel experience
  • Build skills in public speaking, foreign languages, intercultural communication and more!
  • Participate in appreciation events for local volunteers
  • Receive personal and professional development opportunities
  • Earn HI USA membership and dorm overnights at HI USA hostels
Please note that HI USA does not offer work/trade opportunities.

Description

For more than 80 years, HI USA has been the country’s leading hostel brand. Our fun and affordable hostels are located in top cities and unique destinations: think converted mansions, reinvented lighthouses, beach communities and national parks. We bring travelers together locally and from around the world, and that’s just the start. From local tours and curated travel experiences to events and experiential learning programs, HI USA strives to bring moments of cultural enrichment & understanding to everyone who stays with us or joins one of our events. We believe in the power of travel to foster a deeper understanding of people, places, and the world around - in fact, it’s our nonprofit mission.
