Girls on the Run is a life-changing, character development program for girls in 3rd - 8th grade. Our mission is to educate and prepare girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living! In each session, the girls learn ways to be healthy and joyful while developing team building skills and training for a 5k.
Volunteer coaches utilize a curriculum to engage teams of up to 20 girls in fun, interactive lessons twice a week after school for 75 minutes each. You do not need any prior experience - we give our volunteers all the tools and training they need to be a successful GOTR coach. You don’t need to be a runner either, just someone who wants to inspire and motivate girls to lead healthy lives!
We are looking for a Head Coach to help lead a team of girls at Stone Ranch Elementary this Fall! Practices will be on Mondays/Wednesdays from 4:15-5:30pm. Head Coaches must be at practice twice a week, and will have a team of 3-5 Assistant Coaches to help lead and prepare the lessons each week. The Fall 2018 season will start in September and run for 10 weeks. The celebratory end-of-season 5k will be on Sunday, December 2nd.
Head Coach Requirements:
- Pass an online background check
- Complete an in-person (4 hours) and online training (1 hour)
- Attend lessons twice a week for the 10 week program
- Become CPR certified
- Manage all team/parent communication
To apply, please visit our website and complete a coach application (https://www.gotrsd.org/coach) or email coach@gotrsd.org for more information!
