Volunteer Steve
Bedside Music Program

Regardless of your level of musicianship or musical style, ACG Hospice of Overland Park would love for you to share the gift of music by visiting patients on any schedule that works for you.

When musicians play for patients, many times those who haven't spoken in weeks or even months find their voice to sing along and engage in other physical ways. Or they may simply be able to relax in spite of their health issues. ACG Hospice private bedside performances typically take place at assisted living facilities.

This opportunity is ideal for those who play acoustic instruments (guitar, mandolin, ukulele, violin), sing or have small portable electronic pianos. If you have musical skills and can spare about :45 minutes of playing time, you can make a difference in the lives of patients or their families. As a volunteer musician you’ll never have to provide physical care.... just smiles and happiness! Music touches people's hearts like nothing else. Please reach out if you think you can help or have questions. There is no place filled with more love and care than hospice. We support our patients in their homes and nursing facilities.
