We are looking for buddies. But not just any buddy. We are looking for young people to make a difference in the lives of kids who really need extra support and who really need somebody special in their lives. Some buddy special.
The goals of the Peer to Peer Network at the YMCA of Boulder Valley are to encourage and foster the engagement and inclusion of young people who may need support and assistance to fully participate in all activities offered by the YMCA. Our peer mentors, those special buddies, will build one-on-one friendships with their partner who may have intellectual, physical and developmental disabilities. Peer mentors help our young participants with social skill building, giving them opportunities to participate in fun, educational and enriching programs.
This will be assisting kids in grades K-5, 1-3 days a week (M-F) from 2pm-6pm. Some sites start as late as 3pm.
