Position Title: Member of the Board of Directors

Purpose: Acting as a member of the Board of Directors serves as an overarching and more permanent volunteer for Gamers United Foundation, with specific positions, tasks and requirements dependent on the skills of the applicant.

Location: Gamers United Foundaation is based in the Greater Lansing area along with HQ, but will need to be able to attend conventions all over the US.

Key Responsibilities: As a member of the Board of Directors, you will:

• Guide volunteers and peers along the values of Gamers United Foundation.
• Follow proper procedures and bylaws.
• Lead specific programs and goals brought on by the Board.
• Attend Board meetings.
• Take initiative to improve our gaming community.
• Network and make important connections, maintaining professional relationships with local businesses and various nonprofits.

The Length of Appointment: Term length based on Bylaws.

Time Commitment: A couples hours a week for now, with longer hours for an events. Required documented legal meetings. As Gamers United Foundation becomes bigger, the more work will be needed.

Qualifications: Pleasant manner, patience, problem-solving ability, dependability. Must be comfortable with Public Speaking and uphold values to Gamers United Foundation. Must have degree related to one of the following: Volunteer Management, Public Speaking, Accounting, Legal Matters, Graphic Design, Social Media, Web Design, Games.

Perks : Play games of all kinds, get the chance for free tickets to anime/gaming conventions, network with local gamers and geeks. All while getting volunteer hours and helping a good cause!

Support: The Board will be available for questions and assistance.

Gamers United Foundation is a charity and education based nonprofit aimed at promoting community, mental health, and entertainment within the gaming and geek community.
