ORGANIZATION: Neighborhood Bike Works
Please visit the new page to apply.
Neighborhood Bike Works will be hosting a live Bike Build Demonstration on Saturday June 24th from 10am- 6pm at the Philadelphia Maker Faire. We expect to strip and refurbish at least 6 bikes during the time we are there.
This event is an opportunity for Neighborhood Bike Works to engage with community, solicit donations, and showcase our opportunities and programs. Volunteers supporting this event must have bike mechanics skills as we will be doing a live bike build demo in front of patrons of the event. We expect for over 200 people to visit our booth throughout the day.
If you are interested in volunteering please email us at volunteers@neighborhoodbikeworks.org

Description
OUR WORK
We run a suite of youth and adult programs all designed to encourage more people to ride and maintain their bikes. Our work uses bikes to bring about positive change: personal growth, community building, and learning.
In addition to running year-round programs for youth, NBW also opens its space to adults and families. At our Community Bike Shop, we sell quality refurbished used bikes, new parts, and accessories. You can stop into the Community Bike Shop to test ride a refurbished bike or grab a new lock, helmet, or another accessory. For lifelong learners, we run Bike Church, a DIY bike shop and an Adult Bike Repair Class. All sales in our shop support our free and low-cost programs.
