Childcare volunteers are a critically important part of NELCWIT's volunteer program. Many of our clients have children, but no safe place for their children to go when they are accessing our services (counseling, support groups, classes, etc.) By creating a pool of childcare volunteers who can work on an as-needed basis, as well as offering childcare during our events to make them more accessible to parents in the community, we hope to be able to expand the number of support groups and classes offered.

All childcare volunteers are required to complete our 40 hour direct service training, and attend an orientation training specifically about NELCWIT and children before beginning to volunteer. After completing training, childcare volunteers will schedule their own hours through the volunteer coordinator. This may mean regular shifts to provide care for clients' children during groups, or simply being an ad-hoc volunteer, who would be called in advance of events about volunteering to provide childcare. Locations for childcare will vary for events, but regular childcare will take place at one of NELCWIT's two Greenfield offices.

Spanish fluency would be a huge plus!
